The Sanford Mainers trailed by six runs in the second inning and couldn’t comeback, losing Game 2 of their New England Collegiate Baseball League divisional round series to the Bristol Blues, 11-6, on Thursday night in Bristol, Connecticut. Game 3 of the best-of-three series takes place at 6:35 p.m. Friday at Goodall Park in Sanford. Bristol scored two runs on an error to take the lead in the first. Bristol tacked on a run in the fourth and two more in the sixth, but Sanford scored four in the sixth and two more in the seventh to pull within four. On Friday, Sanford will try to earn its fifth trip overall and first since 2016 to the NECBL championship series.
