That’s why over the last year in the State House, I’ve worked to pass legislation specifically aimed at lowering people’s energy costs.
AdvertisementI know from experience how building clean energy in Maine makes us more energy independent and less exposed to the energy price shocks from foreign wars.
Last year, when the Trump administration cut billions of dollars in clean energy investments, it slammed the brakes on Maine’s clean energy development, killing countless jobs across the state and driving up energy prices.
The Maine legislature passed a host of bills aimed at advancing clean energy while protecting ratepayers and creating high-quality, family-sustaining jobs.
This all goes to show that it’s possible and necessary to lower energy costs, keep moving clean energy projects forward and create good, family-sustaining jobs in the process.
