(Carey Kish photo) View 9 photosThe historic steamboat “Katahdin” cruises steadily northwest toward the darkened but unmistakable profile of Mount Kineo and the blazing orb of the setting sun. Mount Kineo State Park encompasses 800 acres on the peninsula, from the cliff face north to Hardscrabble Point. Public access to Mount Kineo State Park is via the Mount Kineo Golf Course shuttle, which operates from late May through early October from the Rockwood Public Landing.
