David Barratt MSP says Scottish Water has agreed to prioritise a survey of the sewer network around Preston Crescent in the coming weeks, following his calls for a more comprehensive assessment of the recurring problem. Mr Barratt said flooding has repeatedly affected the street, at times making it impassable. He said he has supplied Scottish Water with information about the areas where flooding tends to emerge, but the firm is also seeking details from residents who have directly experienced it. Mr Barratt said previous work by Fife Council had found the road gullies at the main low point were operational and draining into the Scottish Water sewer. A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “We will be carrying out sewer investigation works on Preston Crescent in Inverkeithing to understand how far our network may be impacting upon flooding issues in the area.
