REA Completes Luwingu’s K19.4 million Grid Extension

The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has completed the implementation of the over 19.4 million Kwacha Tungati Grid Extension Project in Luwingu District in Northern Province.
Rural Electrification Authority Chief Executive Officer Alex Mbumba says the project is aimed at increasing the number of households connected to the national grid.
He added that the project has given electricity supply to Tungati Combined School, Local Court, Market, Tungati Min Hospital, Kuta Primary School, Chibofwe Primary School, Sokontwe Primary School and Surrounding areas.
He emphasized that the implementation of the Tungati project will bring social and economic benefits which will improve the livelihood of the people of Tungati Chiefdom.
He urged communities where REA has installed the electricity infrastructure not to vandalize the infrastructure aimed at improving their livelihood.
