(Bernama pic)KUALA LUMPUR : The prime minister has the discretion to decide the mechanism by which the special constituency funding known as MyKhas is distributed to constituencies, says government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil. Fahmi added that this was clearly outlined in the various Malaysia Plans and annual federal budget documents, which described the funds as a special allocation from the prime minister. The communications minister maintained that the funds are not meant to be used by MPs but to be channelled to the people. Fahmi pointed out that the government had been using appointed coordinators to manage the distribution of these funds in opposition-held constituencies as well.
