Former Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi questioned BN and PN’s sincerity in ‘uniting the ummah’, dismissing it as mere political rhetoric. Former Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi said it was clear that BN and PN’s tones have changed because of their “greed” for more seats in the Melaka state election. “After winning two states, BN said their cooperation with PN is just an ‘understanding’ to allocate seats, not a new alliance. It’s sad, Malaysia’s ‘honest politics’ is becoming increasingly marred by the rhetoric of ‘uniting the ummah’,” the former Rengit assemblyman said in a Facebook post. BN went on to win 18 seats while PN secured seven, giving their alliance a two-thirds majority in the state assembly.
