PETALING JAYA : Newly paired Soh Wooi Yik-Man Wei Chong saved two match points in the second game before defeating Japan’s Haruki Kawabe-Kenta Matsukawa in three games to make it an all-Malaysian final at the Korea Masters tomorrow.
This will be their first final as a pair, after crashing out in the opening rounds of each of the three tournaments they previously played together.
In the final, they will meet compatriots Tee Kai Wun-Yap Roy King, who were only paired together about a month ago and have played in just three tournaments.
Wooi Yik won the men’s doubles title at the 2024 Korea Masters with his then partner, Aaron Chia.
