Singapore’s prime minister, Lawrence Wong, in a National Day message, said details of the plans would be revealed tomorrow.
(Lawrence Wong Facebook pic)SINGAPORE : The Singapore government is to unveil plans to strengthen government support for Singaporean families extending beyond the stages of marriage and parenthood to encompass the different phases of life.
In a National Day message today, prime minister Lawrence Wong said: “We are taking a fresh look at issues like the costs of raising children, access to affordable infant care and childcare, and other ways to lighten the load on families”.
Details are to be revealed at the National Day rally tomorrow of a major review of the government’s support for families, extending beyond the stages of marriage and parenthood to encompass the different phases of life.
“As technology evolves, we will continue to shape it in ways that serve our people and strengthen our society,” he added.
