According to new research, 58 per cent of residents in the county recognised the influence of charities in their communities, as highlighted in the Charities Aid Foundation’s UK Local Giving Report 2026. "Charities have worked incredibly hard in recent years to keep delivering vital services, all while managing rising costs themselves. "The fact that public recognition of their impact remains so strong shows just how much value people place on this work." The insurer also encouraged charities to build partnerships with local businesses and organisations to extend their reach without incurring significant extra costs. Mr Eccles said: "Charities that can clearly demonstrate their impact and maintain strong connections within their local communities are often best placed to inspire further support."
