Mr Pattison, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in February 2024, wanted to support the charity by taking on the challenge.
Ms Gladstone, who encouraged Mr Pattison to take on the challenge, completed 29.3 miles and said the experience helped her establish a new routine.
She said: "Swimming 22 miles was a great incentive as it was for such a meaningful cause.
"It helps focus the mind, helps with overall health and wellbeing and helps you unwind after a busy day at work."
Ms Gladstone said she now hopes to continue swimming regularly even though the challenge has finished.
