Sean Pritchard, of Priestman Road, Newton Aycliffe, was found to have driven a Citroen DS3 along A689 Addison Road, Bishop Auckland, on January 2, 2026, with both cocaine and its breakdown product, benzoylecgonine, in his system. Both substances were detected over the legal limit. Pritchard, 43, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on August 6. The magistrates imposed a four-year driving ban and made a community order for 150 hours of unpaid work to be completed by August 2027. No order for costs was made due to an outstanding account.
