Wealth manager Quilter has introduced index-linked gilts as an asset class within its Cirilium portfolios following an asset allocation review. It has added the Vanguard Inflation-Linked Gilt Index Fund to its Cirilium portfolios, a multi-asset investment solution that matches individual risk appetite while aiming to deliver long term growth. The allocation will account for around 5% of the Cirilium Conservative portfolios and will become lesser across higher-risk portfolios according to their lower fixed income exposure. Alongside the addition of index-linked gilts, the latest portfolio update increases exposure to Japanese equities while reducing allocations to European equities. Inflation-linked UK government bonds aim to protect investors from rising prices by linking both principal and interest payments to inflation, while complementing existing fixed income holdings in multi-asset portfolios.
