Ahead of an August 26th deadline, the Lone Tree School Board unanimously approved $6.9 million in bond language for an HVAC project to appear on the November 3rd general election ballot. The project outlines a plan to replace the district’s aging heating and cooling system with a modern geothermal system. The district has used an existing geothermal system since 2002 to heat portions of the school. However, two main boilers used to serve the rest of the building have exceeded their life cycle. Should the bond pass, the boilers would be replaced, and the existing geothermal system would be expanded to provide building-wide heating and cooling through a centralized system.
