Two Downtown Investment Grants worth over $50,000 were approved by the Washington City Council Tuesday. The two applications that were approved include one for the Farmers and Merchant Bank building located at 102 East Main Street and Marshall’s Furniture at 221 South Iowa Avenue. The total cost of the project at the Farmers and Merchant Bank building is $275,000, with support of $50,000 in DIG funding. Main Street Washington also voted to pursue the state’s Challenge Grant on behalf of this project.
