Crowcombe Estate, on the edge of the Quantock Hills, won the 2025 Somerset Otter Award. Crowcombe Estate is a mix of arable and grazing land, moorland, woodland, and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The estate’s 250 hectares of woodland are also being restored through regular thinning and plans for new areas of wood pasture. Crowcombe Estate plans to further increase livestock numbers to support habitat management across its land and is developing a new outlet for wild venison. The estate’s team was recognised for their dedication to the land and their vision for a nature-led, resilient future.
