Pavilion owners in Bishkek’s 12th microdistrict have filed lawsuits in the district court and with the prosecutor’s office, challenging the City Hall’s decision to dismantle their retail outlets. They also met with members of the Bishkek City Council and the Zhogorku Kenesh to discuss the situation. According to the retail outlets owners, Zhogorku Kenesh deputy Dastan Bekeshev promised to look into the situation and facilitate a legal resolution. The entrepreneurs also reported collecting over 600 signatures from residents in support of the pavilions’ preservation and requesting a review of the proposed demolition deadline. However, they later received notices demanding that they vacate the site within ten days to create a public garden.
