Kyrgyzstan is strengthening oversight of the implementation of the Law «On Conflicts of Interest.» The Cabinet of Ministers has amended several decisions concerning the work of government agencies and local governments. The key change is that the State Agency for Civil Service and Local Government Affairs has been instructed to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the law. Furthermore, human resources departments of government agencies and local governments are now required not only to collect declarations of interest of employees but also to verify them. The state agency has also been instructed to develop and approve a separate procedure for verifying such declarations within three months.
