Monday marks the start of a new year at Nevada Rise Academy — and it’s about more than just students returning to class. Nevada Rise opened in fall 2018 inside an active east Las Vegas church. But Nevada Rise outgrew the space, at one point allowing its enrollment to drop just to make the classrooms less cramped. The creation of the Nevada Facilities Fund allowed Brecht to literally think big. Nevada Rise closed on its new, 2-acre campus in January with favorable terms — a $1 million down payment and no interest for five years.
