Jailed in India for buying fertiliser, Nepali farmers freed after 38 days

Kathmandu, Aug 8: Two Nepali farmers who were arrested in India while travelling to buy fertiliser have been released on bail after 38 days in detention.
Suresh Prasad Singh and Nagendra Prasad Singh of Balara 5, Sarlahi, were released on Friday following an order from an Indian court.
A single bench of Associate Special Judge Akhilesh Kumar Jha of the Dumra Subdivisional Court in Sitamarhi district ordered the two farmers to be released on bail.
Lawyers Sanjay Kumar Jha and Kiran Chaudhary represented the farmers during the hearing.
The two Nepali farmers had been detained in India while travelling to purchase fertiliser, leaving their families waiting for their release.
