I've realized that the students I work with have no reading comprehension skills. They don't understand the written material in front of them and will ask questions that are clearly answered in the directions or the text they're reading. Even when I repeat the information and have them find it on their own, they don't understand how I got the information from the source. Sometimes, I genuinely don't know what to do. How do I teach reading comprehension to students who don't want or care to learn it?
