Dormy House in Ascot and Bickerton House in Bracknell, both operated by Care UK, will open their doors to visitors on August 8 from 2pm to 4pm as part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative. Bickerton House will host an Australian-themed event inspired by resident Doreen, who grew up in Australia and moved to England in 1958. Michael Pallister, home manager at Bickerton House, said: "Doreen’s a real Aussie and she never fails to delight us with her childhood anecdotes from Down Under. "She’s not been able to go back in many years, so we wanted to bring her a taste of Australia right here." Dormy House will offer an international tasting event featuring food from England, Italy, Lebanon, Ireland and Spain.
