The advertising company JCDecaux has applied to install a 'Communication Hub' in Braccan Walk, just outside Costa Coffee.
The hub comes with a free phone for landlines, an advertising screen and a defibrillator, which can deliver a life-saving electric shock for someone experiencing a cardiac arrest.
Justifying its installation, a cover letter for the plan states: “A notable and unique provision of the Hub unit is the integral defibrillator.
As well as that, the hub provides free Wi-Fi, a touch screen to enable wayfinding, direct access to local webpages, and USB and wirelessdevice charging capabilities.
The proposed installation of the hub has been submitted in a planning application to Bracknell Forest Council.
