Heavy lambs sold well, with the highest prices reaching £199.20 for 62kg lambs from Messrs Worts. A smaller number of lighter weight lambs saw smarter cross-bred lambs selling for up to 333p/kg. Meanwhile, auctioneer Rory Matthews oversaw the sale of 990 cull ewes and rams, which also saw a sharper trade. The average price for cull ewes and rams was £127.46. The market reminded vendors that all cull ewes must be double tagged to enter the market, following reports from Trading Standards of sheep entering the market with only one tag.
