Gold prices edged higher on August 8, with 24K, 22K and 18K rates recording modest gains. 24K gold increased by ₹16 per gram to ₹14,990, while 22K gold rose by ₹15 to ₹13,741. Gold rates can also vary between jewellers because of factors such as making charges, wastage charges and other applicable costs. While the base gold price may be similar across jewellers in a city, the final price of jewellery can differ significantly. Since gold rates fluctuate regularly, the value of one tola also changes with the prevailing market price.
