Female councillors share personal stories of rape and assault during debate

"This is the everyday reality for too many women and girls, who change their behaviour because of somebody else’s actions.
After hearing from the leaders of the four political groups - all men - female councillors took to their feet to share their personal experiences.
"I urge every member to send a clear message today that violence against women and girls has no place in Wiltshire."
But Cllr Westbrook told him: "You don’t want things to be political.
Closing the debate, Cllr Westbrook said: "I want to thank everybody who rose today to speak in favour of this motion, particularly the men who spoke about challenging other men’s behaviour.
