The initiative by the Swindon based lender is thought to be the UK’s largest combined public rollout of its kind.
As part of the scheme, equipment has already been installed at branches across the country—including Marlborough—where the public can access the life-saving kits 24 hours a day in an emergency.
The rollout includes defibrillators and bleed control kits, both housed in secure external cabinets, with advice and assistance provided by emergency services.
Since the rollout began in June, more than 225 kits have been installed nationwide, with 48 defibrillators already used during emergencies, underlining their value.
Nationwide aims to have the equipment in place at all 605 branches by the end of the year.
