‘Your record is less than envious’: Woman jailed for kicking out at police officer

Katie Gardner, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker remotely from HMP Styal at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on August 6.
As a result they took her to Furness General Hospital for treatment, the court was told.

The court heard Gardner was jailed on August 1 after pleading guilty to a number of other matters.
In mitigation, solicitor Lisa Phizacklea explained: “She was not allowed to sit in the main waiting area of the hospital.
