The Grade II-listed South African War Memorial, located in Central Park, Wallasey, pays tribute to the men of Wallasey who lost their lives in the South African War between 1899 and 1902, while also recognising local residents who served during the conflict. Further improvements are also planned, including the installation of a new brass plaque displaying the names of those who lost their lives in the South African War. “The council will continue to carry out regular inspection, maintenance and conservation work throughout the year to keep the memorial in the best possible condition.
