The proposal, for Spring Farm in Bickley, near Malpas, was confirmed by Cheshire West and Chester Council on Tuesday, August 4. It is a re-submittal following earlier rejections by Cheshire West planners to convert two existing barns on site to provide up to six residential units with parking and flood drainage. “The curtilage land application transforms the Class Q Permitted Development outcomes, which are constrained by the Class Q curtilage land limit not exceeding the area of the building. “The curtilage land application provides improved access, parking, private garden land, a good standard of amenity and land for flood compensation and storm water disposal.” Scanned photos attached to the application show the barn is a largely open access facility.
