Visitors can speak to members of the archaeology team and enjoy a range of family-friendly activities throughout the day. On Saturday only, three free guided bus tours will depart from Horwich Leisure Centre and Smithills Hall at 10am, noon and 1.15pm. Events and communications officer for the Smithills Estate, Eddee Endley, said: "It’s clear that people feel a strong connection to Two Lads cairns. "Although the archaeological dig ends on August 14th, we intend to continue hosting guided walks and events to celebrate the cairn's restoration. For the chance to learn more about the history of the iconic landmark and discover the story behind its restoration, the Smithills Estate this weekend.
