A Bolton NHS Foundation Trust report showed that senior maternity doctors were present whenever required during key maternity care situations in compliance with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists standards. This helps the trust meet one of the NHS's key maternity safety standards, and trusts that meet all the requirements can receive additional funding through the NHS Resolution Maternity Incentive Scheme. The achievement comes as NHS organisations continue to focus on improving maternity care across England. It is the largest maternity review ever carried out in the NHS. The findings have strengthened calls for safer maternity services, stronger leadership, and a culture where concerns are listened to and acted upon.
