Swiss Court Guest House, at 25 Bank Street, can now switch between use as a guest house, permanent home or short-term holiday accommodation after permission was granted by the Lake District National Park Authority.
Members acknowledged what was described during the Development Control Committee meeting as a 'campaign' by Keswick Town Council over the impact of unmanaged holiday lets.
Keswick Town Council had objected specifically to allowing holiday-let use without an on-site manager.
Officers also pointed to the terrace's existing mixture of uses, including a six-bedroom holiday let, guest house and HMO.
The permission allows holiday accommodation 'with or without managers accommodation', despite the council asking for 'or without' to be removed.
