He pointed to visible enforcement and clear signage in areas managed by Westmorland & Furness Council, but said there was a lack of similar action in Cumberland. Cumberland Council has defended its current approach, insisting the issue is taken seriously. Officers regularly carry out enforcement activity across Cumberland, the spokesperson said, which respond to reports from residents and visitors.
