At the city’s Rickergate court, 40-year-old Christopher Lowe admitted an assault by beating on July 8. His lawyer said the bottle the defendant threw was “flimsy plastic” and caused no injury. There was long-standing friction between the defendant and her two uncles, and Lowe appeared to be inviting them to fight, said Mr Basra. Lowe then picked up a plastic bottle from the ground and threw it towards her. Describing the item that Lowe threw, the lawyer said: “It was a flimsy plastic bottle… I would argue that it was not a weapon.”
