— The Fargo 12U Little League All-Stars dropped their opening game of the Little League Baseball Midwest Region tournament on Friday afternoon.
Fargo fell to Davenport Northwest (Iowa) 13-0 in a contest that ended via run-rule after four innings.
Davenport Northwest pitcher Cooper Thissen was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 Fargo hitters while walking one.
With the loss, Fargo fell into the elimination bracket and will face Kearney Little League (Nebraska) in a loser-out game at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.
Fargo is making its eighth consecutive appearance at the Midwest Region tournament, winning it in 2023 to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the first time.
