FARGO — Five of 37 Fargo businesses failed recent tobacco compliance checks, resulting in an 86% compliance rate, Fargo Cass Public Health said in a release.
The checks were conducted July 29 to determine whether licensed tobacco retailers were selling tobacco, nicotine or vaping products to people younger than 21.
Fargo Cass Public Health conducts compliance checks several times a year in partnership with law enforcement in Fargo, West Fargo and Cass County, the release said.
A second failure results in a three-day tobacco license suspension and $500 fee.
A third failure results in a 10-day suspension and $500 fee.
