The woman was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital and certified as suffering from serious injuries. Magistrate Tanya Sammut is leading an inquiry into the accident. Earlier in the evening, at 5pm in Vjal ir-Riħan in San Ġwann, there was a crash between a Daihatsu Sirion being driven by a 44-year-old man from San Ġwann and an Aprilia motorcycle being ridden by a 32-year-old man living in Birkirkara. The motorcyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
