A vehicle theft suspect is believed to have been shot during an exchange of gunfire with Reaction Officers in Southridge – KZN today (Friday, 07/08/2026). Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from a resident of Primrose Drive reporting suspects inside the garage. She concealed herself inside the residence while Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to provide assistance. The RUSA Drone Pilot is currently (15:47) conducting an aerial search of the vegetation in an attempt to locate the wounded suspect. It is believed that the male intended to steal the vehicle when Officers arrived.
