Date: 07 August 2026Time: 19:30Location: ProefplaasPVES responders, a practitioner, and a doctor responded to a serious stabbing incident in the Proefplaas area. The patient had sustained multiple stab wounds and had made his way to a nearby highway, where assistance was requested. During the assessment, the PVES Emergency Care Practitioner performed a lung ultrasound, which identified findings consistent with a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) resulting from the penetrating chest injury. The patient was stabilised as far as possible on scene and Netcare 911 transported him urgently to hospital for further definitive treatment.
