Driver suffers life-threatening injuries

Police and other first responders found the female car driver trapped inside the vehicle.
“She was eventually removed from the vehicle about half an hour later, having sustained leg and hip injuries.”
She was subsequently transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are considered life-threatening.
The male driver of the SUV was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was detained.
