Lang8/8/26Iowa City Police have arrested a transient they say was caught squatting in a vacant apartment. Witnesses report seeing 36-year-old Kitty Hood climbing out of an apartment window at 1960 Broadway Street just after 1:45 Friday afternoon. The owners of the building told investigators that the apartment was vacant and Hood had no right to be inside. Hood allegedly damaged the window when she crawled through it, causing $350 in damage. Hood is charged with Trespass Causing Damage Greater Than $300.
