A 71-year-old sex offender accused of having unreported social media accounts appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division on Monday (August 3)and pled guilty to the charges against him. Shelton was required to register as a sex offender in 2010 after child pornography largely depicting young males was found on his computer. On April 22, Shelton picked up his most recent charge when law officers conducted a compliance check at his residence. As in the past, Shelton was found to have access to unreported social media accounts. As a Level 4 sex offender, Shelton is required to provide information, including addresses, employment, phone numbers and social media accounts on a regular basis.
