A Wistaston squash player has reached number two in Europe and is set to fight for the World Championships title in Australia.
Catherine Woodhart will compete at the World Masters Squash Championships in Perth this month after reaching number two in Europe in the Women’s Over 70s category.
Coaching took place at Gordon Banks’ squash club in Biddulph, although it was cut short when Nazrullah died after Catherine had been training with him for around six months.
Catherine finished runner-up in both the British Masters and European Masters Championships, losing to the player who was then the reigning World Champion.
Aged 71, she entered the World Masters Championships, where her defeats came against the players who went on to win the gold and bronze medals.
