Iraqi News
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Apple has legally joined Iraq’s regulated digital market, having met the country’s standards for digital platforms and services, according to the Communications and Media Commission (CMC).
According to the regulator, Apple has been categorized as a trusted digital service provider in Iraq, which includes the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple Arcade, and Apple Ads.
The certification means Apple’s digital services may now function under an official Iraqi regulatory framework, having passed the CMC’s technical and legal standards.
Iraqi officials said the decision is anticipated to boost the country’s digital economy and enhance the investment climate for multinational technology firms.
Asiacell has reached a direct arrangement with Apple to include iPhones in its retail network across Iraq.
