Tomorrow, August 9, is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. The UN tells us that: “There are an estimated 476 million Indigenous Peoples in the world living across 90 countries. “Despite their cultural differences, Indigenous Peoples from around the world share common problems related to the protection of their rights as distinct peoples. “Indigenous knowledge systems have sustained the well-being of Indigenous Peoples for generations. The Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032) provides us with an opportunity to advocate for indigenous cultures.
