A solid effort on both offense and defense during the varsity portion of the scrimmage Friday night for the Hopkins County Central Storm as Coach Adrian Stinger and his team hit the road to Calloway County. Combined with JV time on the field, the Storm took a 33-27 win over the Lakers. Jacob Matheny’s 55 yard reception set the Storm up and the 2-yard line and then Sawyer Allen punched it in for the next scoreAnother long bomb set up the next score for the Storm. Zeke Webster caught a 58 yard touchdown pass, and then the Storm connected with Mason Matheny on a 46 yard score for the fifth touchdown of the night. Hopkins County Central is set to open the season August 21 on the road at Caldwell County.
