It was the fastest mixed 4x400m ever at the under-20 level with six of the eight teams that finished the race breaking their national records. Neil Harrison, who was part of the coaching staff that organised the team, told Observer Online they were hoping to have come away with a medal but a national record was a good consolation. Czechia was second in a national under-20 record 3:18.16 ahead of Australia who took the bronze with a national under-20 record 3:18.45.
