By HALEY MORELAND TribLiveAs of 9:30 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service had lifted several flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings for Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Several areas experienced flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor-drainage and low-lying areas, including Jefferson Hills and Finleyville. At 7:45 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Allegheny County, with storms moving east at 25 mph. Flash flooding impacted much of Westmoreland County. Authorities with Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety reported 19 calls about flooded basements, particularly in Greensburg, Hempfield, New Stanton and Lynchfield areas.
