No one spoke during the public hearing, and commissioners approved the request without opposition. This marks the eighth consecutive year Iredell County has collected more than 99 percent of its property taxes, he said. He said consistently strong collections help keep the county’s tax rate lower by reducing the amount of unpaid taxes that must be carried into future budgets.
